🤗 Over theyears I have hosted my own events with Inspiring Women in Hospitality and also
several with STR. I know how to facilitate, moderate, and engage with the attendees.
🇹🇭Last Wednesday was the first time I served as emcee/mc/compère for an event that I had not organised. I was invited by my mentors Bill and Jonathan to emcee at their inaugural Branded Residences Forum Asia in Bangkok.
🤩 Enjoyed collaborating with the team at the The Bench and C9Hotelworks.
🎤 I introduced speaker, moderators and topics. Engaged with the audience especially during that post lunch lull. I had the pleasure to introduce many friends and industry colleagues that I have know for years.
🎤 You need to be fully present at all times. Listen to what is being said on stage so you can tie it into the next session. Or when the production team need those extra few minutes to change over the mic with the next speakers share your takeaways. Or what I did was take the roving mic and went into the audience to ask them questions or what they thought of what was just shared.
🎤 It was a chance for me to flex my public speaking skills and it felt natural to be on stage.
🌏 On this trip I ended up having quite a few conversations around public speaking and those who do not feel the same confidence that I have today. Trust me, this was not where I started and took work, training and lots of practise.
