🇹🇭 Last week at the SEAHIS conference a Hoftel Summit series, held in Bangkok at BDMS Wellness Clinic I had the honour to moderate the panel on: Is culinary excellence now the key differentiator driving growth and profits for hotel companies? Alongside my esteemed panellists Dilip, Rajan and Rohit
30 mins was not enough time to cover all the knowledge this panel had to share and here is a highlight of what we did discuss:
• How F&B can be the main revenue driver for your asset
• When deciding on the concept, do you design your own, franchise or buy a brand
• What are the data points you need to consider to understand the F&B performance
• How does the voice of the consumer influence your decision
🤩 My overall takeaway from the discussions is how F&B can not only be the demand drivers for both locals and travellers, but if leveraged can be a real profit driver for the business and in some cases more than rooms.
A shout out to Son-Trang for hosting the "Next generation" breakout: Taking over the family portfolio: what does the next generation want to achieve and what support does it actually need?
Not only did the exercises she took us through made sure we stayed warm in the cold air conditioned room, but also engaged all participants in the room in the discussions.
🤗 My takeaway from this session was it comes down to communication. Whether you work for a family business or corporate, having a safe environment to communicate is something every organisation must cultivate.
And great connections made over the two days, thank you to the Hoftel team for your efforts to create space to bring the industry together. Simon, Pum, Chris
