On the 6th of July 2023 I held my seventh Inspire Roundtable in Paris with eight incredible women from hospitality at the CitizenM Opera Paris.
Thank you to all those who attended and for bringing the energy to the conversation.
These roundtablesare an opportunity for women to get together, network and share their experiences from their careers in hospitality.
Here are some of thehighlights from the roundtable.
- We started the discussions with how women need to get better ask for the things that we want. When it comes to promotions, its not enough to put your head down and work hard to get recognised. You need to also build your case and ask for advancing your career.
- Which is also combined with networking, both internally and externally. Building our profile, is goodfor both the individual and benefits the company as well. Learning to speak up and volunteer yourself for speaking opportunities and being on panels, making it part of your goals for the year.
- Women are motivated by more than just title and money, companies need to recognise that flexibility and work life balance are strong incentives for their female workforce. Which will also benefit the men within their organisations. When it comes to gen z, we are starting to see more blending between women and men and what motivates them at work.
- Finally, there is no such thing as a work life and a personal life being two separate entities. Its great to see how this has changed and we are starting to see more blending taking place and we can speak more openly of our personal lives to enable greater authenticity at work.
